An amazing collection!

The songs are all enjoyable and will have you thinking of the movie scenes. If you liked the movies you will love the album.
I play it constantly going to and from work.
If only I could use half-stars in ratings.... If I could, this would be at the 4.5 star mark, and not back at the 4 stars that I was limited to choosing since I can't quite give this one 5 stars. This rating, like many of the others here (especially the more negative ratings) is obviously my opinion. Yours may not match mine, just as mine doesn't match the others here. Personally, I like this sound track. The music is fine by me, and I'm sure that once I've seen the movie I'm going to have awesome memories that are triggered by hearing these songs when I sit and listen to the album again and again. It may not rise to the absolutely 5 stars (heck, I'd have given it more if I could have) that the first album earned from me. That was exactly as advertised, an Awesome Mix. Every song on the track was great, and yes, once you'd seen the movie, the sound track was that much better as the songs reminded you of what you'd seen and enjoyed so much. I happen to like most everything that is included in this album, but... and yes, there's a but, that like doesn't necessarily rise to love for all of the tracks that are included here. The more country and/or sweet pop tracks don't bother me, but they don't rock me like the tunes of the first album did. A quick run down, again this is my opinion only, yours would likely differ: * Mr. Blue Sky {Electric Light Orchestra} - rockin' * Fox On the Run {The Sweet} - this one rock as well By the time you've heard those two songs, you're thinking you're getting another rockin' sound track, but things change along the way, as we get to the next few tracks... * Lake Shore Drive {Aliotta Haynes Jeremiah} - this one is definitely more pop-ish, and more towards country and even into the blue grass territory. If you were expecting hard rock here, this is going to disappoint you. * The Chain {Fleetwood Mac} - this is a definite classic in the rock world. Covered by many, from the originals here. * Bring It On Home to Me {Sam Cooke} - a little bluesy, a little country-ish, a little Motown too. In many ways this seems more like something I would have heard in a Blues Brothers movie, but I like this song and can accept that it would have been part of an Awesome Music Mix. * Southern Nights {Glen Campbell} - and here we lose the folks that don't like country music. Yes, this is a country classic. By today's standards, it might be consider pop-country. It is a classic tune, but yes, if you don't like country than you aren't gonna care much for this song. * My Sweet Lord {George Harrison} - This isn't a high energy rocking tune either. Rock, but mellow rock. Pop-ish even. I admit, I'm curious where this will fit into the story line as it seems a bit, uh, reflective perhaps. * Brandy (You're a Fine Girl) {Looking Glass} - I heard this song quite frequently in my youth as my parents liked to listen to classic rock/pop music, the songs they'd grown up with. This is a classic tune, but is again not the high energy rock that many may have expected or hoped for. That said, were these folks perhaps expecting that they were going to be watching a Fast and Furious movie with the music that would be expected to go along with that type of action? * Come A Little Bit Closer {Jay & The Americans} - definitely in the country realm on this one. Old pop, or old classic rock. Not a bad tune, but again, not high energy rock and roll. I expect I'd hear crickets or perhaps a big bobber once I hear this song. * Wham Bam Shang-a-Lang {Silver} - the mellow continues... * Surrender {Cheap Trick} - ah.... back to the high energy. I've got great memories of rocking to this tune in my younger days, so I'm definitely a fan and enjoy this track being included here. * Father and Son {Cat Stevens who goes by another name now...} - a very reflective song. Considering what we know from trailers and/or hints that were included in the first movie, I'm not at all surprised to see this tune here. Again, I'm curious how this song plays into the film, but I appreciate it and don't have any problem with it being included. * Flash Light {Parliament} - OK, I've gotta admit here that I have gotten a couple of Dancin' Groots from this movie and one of them featured this song prominently. A classic funk song and I can easily imagine, without having seen the movie yet, baby Groot getting his groove on while this song plays, just as the plastic animated models that I have do. * Guardians Inferno {feat. The Hoff!!} - it's the Hoff darn it. You've gotta respect the Hoff. As I sum it all up, yeah, I can see where people may be disappointed with this mix, but really it isn't a bad mix at all. It just had such a high bar to try to match given the total awesomeness of the first mix, and really, capturing that level of lightning again was not at all going to be easy and shouldn't have been expected to happen. Enjoy this for what it is, not for what you hoped it would be. If you try that approach, I think you'd be happy. I know I am happy with it, and really, if I could, I'd give it another half-star because it really is better than 4 stars, but not quite 5 stars for my tastes.
