Skylight Calendar: 15in Smart Touchscreen Interactive Family Display

My husband and I both work from home and have constantly overlapping meetings, work travel, and ever since the pandemic it has been a living nightmare to manage who is doing what when. I can't tell you how many times we scheduled over each other only to find out when it was too late...we tried a shared google calendar, but without something physical we never ended up looking at it. When we got the skylight calendar we weren't sure at first if it would solve the problem we'd been having (and honestly initially when we saw the pricing we hesitated briefly) but we could not be more happy with the results! The product feels almost like it came from Apple - the opening experience is delightful, the finish is really premium (which makes it more fun to use), and setup is a breeze. Once it's set up, all you have to do is add your calendars and almost automatically it all shows up and auto-updates (if you, like us, were a little confused about how to set up the stand instead of mounting it - there's a really easy video on youtube that walks you through how to do it). I cannot tell you how life changing this has been! My husband is constantly on work travel and it has been so helpful to see when he is traveling, have all of the details I need at my fingertips, and to be able to quickly add and remove joint events or tasks whenever we need it. Even after a couple of weeks it has made a big difference. One tip if anyone in your family is using a work calendar - one problem we initially ran into because my husband's calendar lives on his work email and his IT admin wasn't approving it (heads up it shows up at Glimpse LLC), we weren't able to see anything on that calendar. The good news is there is a really easy fix: all you have to do is add the email (yourusername@ourskylight.com - obviously put your actual username and not 'yourusername') to all the events you want shared and it easily pops up in the calendar. We were worried it wasn't going to work but it's been smooth sailing since we figured that out. If you're struggling to manage your or your family's busy schedules and tasks and want a beautiful solution that is a real joy to use - your search is over. Oh and by the way, we found out you can also use it as a picture frame! We haven't done that yet but given my husband loves photography I'm sure we'll be using that soon. Could not recommend this product more!!

Skylight calendar was easy to set up. We've used a shared Google calendar for a few years in attempts to stay organized, but it was mainly accessible to us parents, as our kids are a bit too young to organize their lives through Google. Skylight enabled us to integrate quickly where our shared family calendar was displayed on-screen, and then allowed additional color coding (by person), as well as ability to add to the calendar from the screen itself, making it easy for the kids to add their events. Added bonus is the grocery list (we have the calendar in the kitchen, so no excuses not to add what we've run out of), and chore list. We're still early in usage, and the key will be adoption across family members as single source of truth and interoperability back to our personal Google calendars. But, so far this is the best, clearest solution we've come across to organize our family schedules.

We recently brought the Skylight Calendar into our home, and it's made a noticeable difference in how we manage our family's daily routines. It's not an exaggeration to say it's simplified our lives tremendously. What caught our attention is how easy it is to assign chores. The kids enjoy the interactive aspect of checking them off once completed. It's a small but impactful feature that's made chores a less daunting task for them. Meal planning has always been a bit of a chore in itself, but Skylight has managed to ease that stress. We can lay out our plans clearly, and everyone knows what to expect for dinner each evening. It's eliminated that end-of-day scramble we used to experience. The color-coding system has been a standout feature for us. Each family member has their own color, making it straightforward to see individual schedules at a glance. It's removed a lot of the confusion that used to come with a busy family life. Synching the Skylight with our Google Calendar was a breeze as well! We now have all of our calendars in one spot that is easy to see! In essence, the Skylight Calendar has brought a level of organization to our family that we didn't realize we were missing. We find ourselves less stressed and more on top of our daily tasks and schedules, and for us, that's made all the difference.

I’m really a paper pencil person, and I have a year wall calendar which I love and still use, but it’s quite cluttered with all our family schedules. The problem is that when I’m out and about scheduling/cancelling appointments I only add it to my phone calendar and forget to add it to the paper calendar. It’s also not easy to find the appointments again later on my phone. This calendar syncs easily with many different calendar apps. It is very straight forward to set up, use, read, and it lets you know what’s going on that day, the next few days or month. Some say it’s a basic calendar that’s not worth the money but it’s perfect for my family. I don’t have to answer the dreaded question of what do we have to do today. Everyone’s schedules are color coded to match my original calendar app. The only complaint I have is that you can’t add to the calendar console directly because it won’t sync back to my phone calendar app. It looks like it might if you use google calendar, but I wish it would work for them all. I’m not positive it’s worth it for everyone but it’s definitely worth it for me.
