TRUFF Original Black Truffle Hot Sauce

After being bombarded with ads, I decided to order a bottle to see what the rage is all about. I tried the sauce first on a burger and on a sandwich and the verdict for this sauce is that it's very rich in flavor. But unfortunately it's nothing spicy, but you can feel a slight tang of heat, smokiness and rich sweetness. Don't get me wrong, the lack of heat is not a bad thing! It really compliments any dish you can think of. The after taste leaves you wanting to add more because of how unique this sauce is. Again on the heat aspect of this sauce: this is a great bottle to have if you're too sensitive to spicy sauces but still want a bit of touch of heat. A bottle of cholula or Tapatio is way spicier than this. To conclude: this sauce very much stands alone on every common hot sauce on the market. The unique richness and complexity of this sauce leaves me wanting to add more just to experience how wonderful in flavor it actually is. I very much recommend this to flavor enthusiasts and can't wait to get more!

Comments on food product are always going to be divisive because everyone has different tastes. I saw that this product has >4 stars but the top rated comments are all 1-star saying this is the most disgusting vile thing. And then I went on other places like Reddit and saw similarly a mix of positive and negative comments. Etc. I debated quite at length about whether to try this out, since it's quite expensive -- ideally I could just go to a store or a friend's place and sample it first. You're probably going through the same since you're reading this comment. I can't prove to you that you'll like this, but I can at least add my thoughts: TASTE: It's pretty good. It tastes like premium hot sauce with some truffle flavor. It's quite thick, and a bit sweet. Maybe the closest approximation is if I took some ketchup, tabasco, and truffle oil, all together. Cost aside, I would gladly slather this onto fries, burger, steak, etc.. anything that I'd normally use hot sauce for. HEAT: It's not bad. Of course everyone has differing opinions on what is spicy enough, but it's overall not bad. I am no connoisseur of spiciness or scoville heat index, but I'd say it's about around the same range as sriracha sauce. TRUFFLE-NESS: Before buying this, make sure you actually like truffles. It's a distinctive, powerful aroma. I can't tell you how authentic this actually is, versus if you shaved real truffles into your hot sauce. But it does have a distinct but not overpowering truffle flavor. COST: $18 is a lot for a 6oz bottle of hot sauce. So I would use any of my normal hot sauces (e.g. Secret Aadvark is my go-to), and then use this when I want something special, have guests over, etc. But not for daily use. I would happily give this as a gift. OTHER: It's in a glass container with a screw top. It's fine for pouring, but that's not the ideal container for something that you want to get bits out of. Inevitably when I pour it, it gets on the outside rim. That's not a dealbreaker, and you probably won't notice at all, but FYI.

Has natural and artificial truffle flavoring and is very sweet not much heat

We love truffle oil. This one with heat really kicks up the flavor. We’ve especially enjoyed it on grilled salmon!

Truff is my new favorite hot sauce by far. The extra hot has a great kick but still tastes insanely good. Would gift/recommend to all.

I love this stuff. It is pricey but it’s worth it. I put this stuff on all types of dishes and I’ve never really been a hot sauce person. I’ve taken it to work a time or two in fact. It’s spicy but not overbearing and who doesn’t like anything truffled?

Never tried truffle before (I’m uncultured, I know) so I wasn’t expecting the sauce to taste like it did. The closest comparison I can make is that it vaguely tastes like hummus. There’s not much spice and the truffle itself is a bit overpowering. Guess it’s an acquired taste kind of thing.
