Practice on known sources to get the feel of it, it took me a little while. Good for travel due to the handy size. Finding a hidden camera takes a lot of sweeping with the light.

The media could not be loaded. This wireless signal detector is very easy to use, just pressing the two main buttons located on its body, without any other complicated settings to deal with. It recharge using a (included) Micro-USB cable, but the power block is not included though, so you will have to provide your own. That said, it's very basic. It has a sensitivity setting, mode setting to go from WiFi to "full mode", and a mode that turns on three red LED style light on the top of the wand. When tested however, the WiFi mode caught nothing, even while holding the device right against two cell phones connected to WiFi. It was only when the wand is set to "full mode" that it started picking up some signals coming from the test phones. As for the red LEDs, they do have a setting that let you flash them plus or minus strongly, but that's all really. I have a car key-fob style hidden camera, and tried to discover the hidden camera location using this light system, but no avail. Everything was lighted up red, without any chance at pinpointing the camera location. So, I will say that this device didn't impress me much, and is super basic when it comes to finding any wireless signal, as long as it's set to "full mode". But that's pretty much all it does.

We traveled to Columbia for the first time and were staying at an Airbnb. I was a little hesitant and nervous of the security, so we purchased this item to scan the property. It beeps when it detects a camera or spying device, which luckily the property didn’t have any. This just added another layer of security and peace of mind. Definitely worth the small investment! Great quality and performance. I have already recommended to my friends and family.

I tested this on three (very different) hidden cameras, my wifi router, electronics that are wifi connected and on a bunch of electronics and outlets that had no signals of any kind, just to see if it gave off any false positives. I’m happy to say that it gave no false positives on any non transmitting electronics I tested. The feature that seems to be the most useful is the full band frequency detection, which covers signals produced by wireless microphones and wireless cameras. The wifi detection also works quite well but I haven’t figured out how it could be more useful than the full band detection. The light to expose hidden camera lenses does work on many hidden cameras but the smallest pinhole cameras are very hard to see and it is hard to distinguish the difference between tiny lenses and metal fasteners, like screws. It does expose camera lenses that are about pea size and are hidden behind dark glass or semi reflective 2 way mirror types of concealment (when held at the right angles). Never the less, whenever the light failed to show a pinhole camera the full band frequency detection responded quite well to the signals being transmitted by each of the hidden cameras I tested it on. The signal detection can be interfered with by anything transmitting a signal like remote controls, cell phones and anything that connects to wifi. However with careful sweeps you can find a hidden camera in a room full of things that are just hooked up onto the wifi. The real reason I got this was so my wife could use it in any dressing room. And I would imagine there won’t be that many interfering signals in a dressing room. The second reason I got this was to use it in an Airbnb type scenario and in that case, you will have to be careful with your sweeps to determine whether or not you’re picking up a Hidden camera or microphone rather than a Wi-Fi connected electrical device. You can adjust the sensitivity of the detection and that is very helpful when you have a lot of benign signals in a room. The closer you get to a hidden camera or microphone the more intense the alert noise is, so presumably you can find the exact location of a device (like you’re getting warmer or colder). Over all I think this product is worth the price and I look forward to this technology improving over the years. I will buy this device again in the future, assuming it will continue to adapt to future spy cam technology.

It is a compact little detector that is worth its weight. You have to play around with it when you first get it so that you know how it works. It was able to pick up the wifi from three rooms away, which slightly messed with the readings, but after figuring out the issue and adjusting the frequency/power accordingly, I was able to get a good scan. I have yet to find a hidden camera with the sensor (which I believe is a good thing), but it is a good function to have. No real issues yet. However, I wish it was able to find non-transmitting recording devices. But anything throwing off a signal appears to be captured.

The instructions are not clear. Other than that, it is a good product.
Great for travel. Takes a bit of practice to get used to how quickly or slowly to move the pen for detection, but other than this, it works, is easy to use, and doesn't take up much space.
