If you mostly play for yourself, like I do, and have housemates and neighbors, this is really the thing. I use it all the time instead of my actual amp now. It has a pretty wide range of tones, all adjustable from the unit and color coded to the LEDs. Not overcomplicated. No app to mess with. Battery lasts a good long while. I'm not a snob about tones so this meets all my needs in that respect. My only complaint is that a few of the settings have a small amount of hiss or noise on them. Not much though. Build quality is solid, especially around the hinge the jack swivels around which was my primary concern. But even with it built well, if your input jack is on the edge of your guitar, it will get in the way if you play sitting down. I bought a 5" extension cable and some velcro to attach mine in an out of the way place.
I recently purchased the Fender Mustang Micro Headphone Amplifier, and I must say, it’s a game-changer! As a guitarist, I always had to deal with the hassle of lugging my amps and pedals upstairs whenever I wanted to practice in my room. But thanks to this fantastic device, those days are gone. One of the standout features of the Fender Mustang Micro is its convenience. The compact size makes it incredibly portable, allowing me to plug in my Fender Stratocaster directly and play without disturbing anyone around me. This headphone amplifier truly delivers a remarkable experience, providing a rich and authentic sound that stays true to the iconic Fender tone I love. Setting up the Mustang Micro is a breeze. Just plug in your guitar, put on your headphones, and you’re good to go! The intuitive controls make it easy to adjust the volume, gain, and tone to match your desired sound. Additionally, it offers a selection of different amp models and effects, providing endless possibilities for experimentation and finding your perfect sound. The sound quality produced by this headphone amplifier is simply outstanding. The tones are well-balanced, and the built-in effects add depth and character to my playing. I appreciate how it preserves the nuances of my guitar’s sound, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the music without compromising on clarity. What sets the Fender Mustang Micro apart from other headphone amplifiers is its exceptional battery life. I can practice for hours on end without worrying about running out of power. It’s great to have the freedom to play wherever and whenever inspiration strikes, whether it’s at home, during travel, or even outdoors. In conclusion, the Fender Mustang Micro Headphone Amplifier is an absolute must-have for guitar enthusiasts. Its portability, ease of use, and superb sound quality make it a valuable addition to any guitarist’s toolkit. Say goodbye to the hassle of lugging around heavy amps and pedals and say hello to a new level of convenience and creativity. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to enhance their practice sessions or simply enjoy playing their guitar with the utmost convenience and exceptional sound. Happy playing!
This thing is amazing. It's got a very wide selection of built-in tones of choose from. I can switch from a Metallica sound to The Beatles with the push of a button. It's small enough to fit in your pocket, I've lost it in the clutter of my room several times it's that small. Bluetooth capability is ingenious and probably the best part. You can pair it up with a phone or laptop and get audio from both the device and your guitar. I use it a lot with a metronome app on my phone, but you can also put on a youtube backing track on your laptop or play along with lessons online like TrueFire. Since audio only goes out through a 3.5mm jack, you can play at any hour of the night and not annoy sleeping relatives or roommates. Great battery life, plays for several hours, and charges back up pretty fast. My only con is that to choose a tone or effect, you cycle through them and there is only a little colored LED light to tell you which tone you're on. Since there's so many tones, the light colors are very hard to tell apart. There's a red, an orange-ish red, a purple-ish red, a dark purple, a purple blue, a light blue, you get the picture. Maybe in the next version they could add a little LCD screen which would be super helpful. That's the only con though, this thing rocks!

I’ve seed reviews and questions regarding bass guitar compatibility with the Mustang Micro Headphone amp and I can assure everyone it works great with a bass guitar with the amp models and effects. Recording video into an iPhone 14 Plus with the native iOS camera app works great as well. With my passive bass I just plugged in the Micro, used the clean amp mode and set the effects to my liking, I then ran a USBC to Lightning data cable directly into my iPhone, opened the camera and started recording very good quality audio and video that saved directly to my iPhone camera roll folder. I’ll just import the video into iMovie to do my editing. I also own an iPhone 15 so I’m guessing just running a USBC to USBC data cable would work perfectly as well but I haven’t tried recording with my iPhone 15 yet. I did try the NU-X headphone amp and it’s a great item but I returned it as I didn’t want to deep dive the software that’s needed to use it, I prefer the software that’s just living on the Fender Micro. Also, the Bluetooth works flawlessly with the Micro for playing bass along with YouTube videos. I’ve been a pro bass player for my entire life and the Mustang Micro is a keeper !!!! Cheers. Davyo
This little device is amazing! It’s got great DSP amp and effects tones. I plug in some AKG open-back headphones and I feel like I’m playing at a rock concert. The amp emulations are fairly close to the list of amps they emulate, but more importantly it just sounds realistic. It’s a lot of pleasing tones to the ear. It’s a very wide range of tones too. From Soldano to Fender, it’s got a lot. The effects are nice too. I kind of wish it had a tuner but it’s already a lot of value for the money. I also found out it can function as an audio interface on your DAW, too! This is a whole lot of kit for the price. Great for practicing in your own world.
