So my $60 dollar launch OBD rwas able to give me the abs code for a my Subaru. Witch was an abs relay & solenoid. After replacing both solenoid & relay this code reader even with all the updates was unable to detect my vin or erase any code let alone give me the code that a cheaper launch code reader was able to do. EDIT I returned this foxwell code reader and bought the android 7.0 based launch for 100 bucks extra LAUNCH OBD2 Scanner,2023 Newest CRP129X Elite. It was fully able to detect my vin on a 2005 Subaru on 2006 350z and tell me the exact issue that was stored and erased the srs and brake light after replacing the solenoid and fuse to the solenoid. The live data stream launch crp is able to be emailed to you, you can pull up the internet and look at videos of your code and car get an official launch stamped certified diagnostics of your car emailed to you after it runs all sensors that are available on your model car. This is perfect for cars 2015 and up for the older models the 9 pin OBD2 only usually have about 34 sensors you can read but I was able to fix my 350z oil burning problem by the live data stream I was able to record live while driving them email it to myself and read it and see that the plenum was slightly leaking oil into bank 6 spark plug. Witch a 70 dollar plenum spacer completly fixed the 1 quart every 3 months I was loosing and premature wear on my ignition system. I def think the foxwell is great for cars under 2008 but if you want basically a tablet obd reader wifi Bluetooth, on board memory & processor making it super fast def spend the extra 100 bucks it might even be on sale now and get the launch crp129x as you can see in my pictures the ones with no dash lights was cause the crp129x it's auto vin worked on a 20 year old car & saved me oil consumptions problems from being able to record live data stream and email it to myself and research it on my 350z. So in short the crp launch did everything needed with all the functions of a tabletz YouTube videos with links to the check engine code your having. Screenshots. Email, certified launch diagnostics health certification stamped and either mailed or emailed to you instantly showing all system checks and live data plus freeze frame.

This product works well unless you have a Toyota, then it doesn’t work at all.

Bought a Hyundai & had an Airbag light on. Hooked this up right out of the box. Was able to navigate the menu without reading the instructions. Showed a bunch of ABS & airbag codes due to low voltage. Was able to view live data from the wheel sensors to verify they were working. Cleared the codes & lights are out! Previous owner had a loose alternator belt & parked the car when it died. Seems the low voltage tripped a bunch of sensors. Dealer wanted $180 to diagnose & I'm sure they would have wanted to sell me something.... I bought this tool for less than $150!! I'm up 30 bucks & have the tool! Looking forward to seeing what else this can do!!

So before the update, for example of you selected live data and wheel sensor speed RPM, it would say just that. AFTER I did all the updates, you could select FL,RR,RL,FR. Great scanner for the price but definitely do the updates, you'll get more for your money. There are a few downsides, setting the shortcuts isn't exactly user friendly for one. For an at home car guy, it will do what you need.
At first glance, nice protective case, ready to go out of the box. Son had experience with expensive units from his time with auto repair shop and was impressed with dialog and features it offered. May have rated higher after more use but very happy with purchase initially.

Just what I was looking for

I love this scanner and I think it’s priced very fairly! This is great for your average person who wants to have a scan tool around to diagnose their vehicle or work on their vehicle themselves. That being said this scan tool is quite slow. If you’re a full time mechanic and want to get the job done quickly and thoroughly to satisfy your customer, spend the extra money and get something faster with more functions. I’ve used this to read codes, watch live data and check I/M readiness many times. For the price of this scanner it’s capabilities are quite impressive. With this tool you’re able to see codes that wouldn’t cause a check engine light which I often don’t see on budget scanners. It was very useful in diagnosing a bad wheel speed sensor in my girlfriends car that another scan tool wasn’t showing us a code for. It would have been nice with slightly smaller buttons to make room for a bigger screen but it is still easy to see everything and not an issue.
